Melanie had a shameful secret. Despite having been born and raised in sunny California, she never learned to ride a bike. I imagine it’s a little like languages – the older you get, the harder it is to learn. Unlike learning a language though, there’s also the years of accumulated fear of falling over and hurting yourself. And while New York City is slowly becoming more bike friendly, it’s still not the most hospitable place for a beginner. But her mind was set, and so she bought this beautiful Specialized Vita, secondhand. It must have taken a bit of real courage to ride those first few laps around McCarren Park last summer, but she made it without major incident. Look for her on the streets of Brooklyn this summer.
joe - Great portrait! I look forward to seeing more of these.
MP` - She’s a cutie
Elaine - I loved seeing the “behind-the-scenes” shots of this shoot. I love the lighting the have on the bikes. I thought it was just a happy accident, but now I see it is artistry. Very very nice shots. Love your photos.
