Greenpoint, Brooklyn is full of hidden gems. The Newtown Creek Nature Walk is one of the newest. It’s a quiet, secluded, almost always empty public walkway nestled along one of the most polluted waterways in the country, next to a water treatment plant. It’s charming, in that Greenpoint sort of way. The whole thing was designed by sculpture artist George Trakas, and my favorite part might be the curved walls of the entrance corridor.
I’ve wanted to do a bike portrait here for awhile (though I don’t think biking is technically allowed here.. oh well). Enter Mila and her trusty Linus.
