Emily Jacobi is the executive director and founder of Digital Democracy, a nonprofit that seeks to use technology to empower marginalized communities. She also happened to be one of the first people I photographed last year when I started the #BikeNYC series. Emily’s been in demand at various speaking engagements, so she got in touch with me about getting some nice new headshots done. Once again we met in Greenpoint’s lovely McGolrick Park, and near the end of our shoot, Emily mentioned that she just picked up another used Dutch bike – a 3-speed. So we took advantage of the dying light to welcome the new bike with a proper portrait. I think it’s a good match, don’t you?
