Barbara and her pooch Gabriella (Gabby) photographed underneath the East River Drive overpass. Remember when Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz rolled into his state of the borough address on a tricycle, I guess to make fun of bike lanes? Well, couple of differences here. First, Barbara actually uses her trike for transportation, errands, and shopping. Second, instead of a stack of cheesecakes, she’s adapted the rear rack so that Gabby can ride along. Rider and passenger both seemed quite content. Barbara got the tricycle, which folds so she can keep it in her apartment, 2 years ago. She never pedaled in the city before that. “It changed my life.”
