I spent the weekend in Temecula, CA shooting both days of Tough Mudder SoCal (the first of two such events this year) at Vail Lake Resort. A beautiful site with beautiful California weather. The 11.5 mile course was very spread out. A golf cart would have been useful. I had something much better:
Here’s a quick video I shot while driving this bad boy along the course. You’re not on drugs – that weird distortion is YouTube’s native camera shake correction. Not sure it’s an improvement over the shaky original.
Enjoy the photos, and check out the full gallery on Google +.

You should be proud of yourself. Your photographs are a million times better than those who were paid by Brightoom (the official even photography company). Consider working for them next year and maybe I’d be able to get an awesome photograph of myself during the event (unlike this time)…
Thanks for the compliment, Val! It’s important to keep in mind that the Brightroom guys have a very different job – they’re tasked with photographing literally every single one of the thousands of participants at the event to try to maximize sales. I have the luxury of culling, editing and delivering only the very best of the many images I take in a day.
Love these images! Make sure you Check out Hero Rush (herorush.com) for some more chances at amazing photos.
