Dmitry Gudkov is a freelance photographer based in New York City. His work spans a diversity of genres, but he’s always drawn to people and stories.
His #BikeNYC project, a series of portraits of New York City’s diverse cycling community, has been featured on Streetsblog, the Flickr blog, El Pais and the Huffington Post. Blending photojournalism, artistic portraiture, and cycling advocacy, the project continues to be one of his most fulfilling photographic endeavors.
Dmitry is also the official photographer of the Tough Mudder series of endurance events, which has him spending many weekends in various parts of the country scrambling through mud, woods, and snow to capture the physical and emotional drama of the event.
In January 2012, Dmitry spent a week in Park City, Utah covering the Sundance Film Festival for the Sundance Channel. The assignment saw him cover many facets of the festival, including celebrity portraits, event coverage, and street fashion.
Arriving in New York City by way of Russia, Chicago, California and Egypt, Dmitry is now based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He loves to travel anywhere in the world for editorial and commercial assignments. (Hire Dmitry)
