Back in the Midwest! Tough Mudder Minnesota actually took place 45 minutes east of Minneapolis in Somerset, Wisconsin. Definitely a tale of two days – Saturday and Sunday couldn’t have been more different. Saturday was hot, sunny, and humid, with gusting winds and resulting clouds of dust. One of those days that makes the usually daunting ice water plunge obstacles seem like a welcome relief. Sunday was about 20 degrees colder and rainy. By the afternoon many of the mudders were near-hypothermic and it was time for the mylar blankets.
One course, two very different experiences. The one constant was ridiculous amounts of mud. The Mud Mile obstacle was probably the best I’ve seen. A series of mud pits and hills, it was both very fun and incredibly energy-sapping. Lots of great stuff on both days. Picture time!
