Another weekend, another Tough Mudder. This event was held at the Badlands Offroad Park in Indiana, and it was a really cool course. The park is huge and has a varied terrain, including woods, swamps, and tall pebbly dunes. The diabolical minds behind Tough Mudder found some kind of supermud for the Mud Mile obstacle. It was the thickest, deepest gloopy mud I’ve ever seen. People were losing shoes left and right. And the real tour de force was the mystery obstacle. A new creation called Shocks on the Rocks, it combines Chernobyl Jacuzzi, Kiss of Mud, and Electroshock Therapy into a single obstacle. Essentially, you have to belly crawl through flourescent green ice water. The reason you’re crawling is that above you, instead of barbed wire, you have live electrical wires – the same electrical wires that are featured on Electroshock. I was told that whenever one person was shocked, everyone going through the obstacle felt it. TMHQ, once again you’ve topped yourselves. Click through to see some highlights.
The arrival of Tough Mudder was clearly a boon to the town of Attica, IN.
The clear winner of the costume contest. The emcee is the always hilarious Clint Jackson.

Yup, that’s a real swamp

A moment of Mudder solidarity. One of the guys explained: “He lost his, so I took mine off.”
