Mila and I spent a few days in Belgium recently, including 4 in the storybook town of Bruges. As Colin Farrel said in the surprisingly good movie, “I know I’m awake, but it feels like I’m dreamin’.” Neither of us had seen the movie before, so I brought it along. A combination of jet lag and copious consumption of Trappist beers meant that we could only get through about 15-20 minutes each night before passing out. So we watched it in installments, which turned out beautifully, since by weird coincidence we would see parts of the city in the film that we had toured earlier in the day.
This shot of the restaurants on the Markt square was taken from the top of the belfry.

What a beautiful town. I spent a whole day there, last year, and I really enjoyed it. Nice shot (the belfry was already closed when I got there).
