Sarah and her fiance Keith will be getting married in early September. Unfortunately I’ll be missing their wedding due to travel. But I did get to meet up with them yesterday to do some engagement portraits in Williamsburg.
Sarah is a fantastic New York-based wedding photographer, and my first weddings gigs were assisting and second shooting for her. Also, she photographed my wedding. So when she asked if I would do an engagement shoot I was very happy to return the favor, and of course a little bit nervous about producing good images for a talented pro. Sarah was kind enough to bring her fancy-schmancy 50mm f/1.2 lens and let me use it for the shoot (I encourage all my subjects to bring me expensive photographic equipment). It’s basically just like my 50mm f/1.8 lens, only it’s made of metal and costs 18 times more.
We had a great time walking and shooting around Williamsburg, which has no shortage of photogenic settings, and visiting the site(s) of their first date at Iona, which, I’m told, lasted at least 6 hours.
