I ran into Pat in East River Park – she looked so leisurely and comfortable as she cycled along the esplanade, occasionally weaving gently so she could keep to the smoother strips of pavement. It was almost a shame to interrupt her ride to ask for a portrait but she gladly agreed.<\/p>\n

Pat’s 81, and has been riding in New York for 16 years, the last 10 of those on this Ross, which she loves (and which her husband assured her is better than a Schwinn). She rides for 2 hours every single day – for exercise, fresh air, and errands.<\/p>\n

She loves the new bike lanes.<\/p>\n
