{"id":3412,"date":"2013-06-05T10:43:30","date_gmt":"2013-06-05T14:43:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gudphoto.com\/bikenyc\/?p=3412"},"modified":"2013-06-05T11:13:11","modified_gmt":"2013-06-05T15:13:11","slug":"begrimed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gudphoto.com\/bikenyc\/2013\/06\/05\/begrimed\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Begrimed&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dorothy Rabinowitz, a rich old lady who is a member of the Wall Street Journal&#8217;s editorial board, lit up the Internet last week with this video rant against New York&#8217;s bike share program.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/live.wsj.com\/public\/page\/embed-C6D8BBCE_B405_4D3C_A381_4CA50BDD8D4D.html\" height=\"288\" width=\"512\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s really worth a look; it&#8217;s an enthralling, unhinged performance. At one point she actually says, &#8220;The bike lobby is an all-powerful enterprise.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She also says, &#8220;I represent the majority of citizens.&#8221; She also says, &#8220;We now look at a city whose best neighborhoods are absolutely begrimed, is the word, by these blazing blue Citi Bank bikes \u2014 all of the finest, most picturesque parts of the city. It is shocking to walk around the city to see how much of this they have sneaked under the radar in the interest of the environment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Begrimed&#8221; obviously stuck with a lot of people. The wonderful Liz Patek put up a picture blog post called <a href=\"http:\/\/bikepeacenyc.wordpress.com\/2013\/06\/04\/bewitched-bothered-begrimed\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bewitched, Bothered &amp; Begrimed<\/a>, showing just how awfully begrimed the city has become by those bad bike begrimers. I&#8217;m going to hop on Liz&#8217;s bandwagon and show a few Citi Bike begrimers here.
