The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/html\/dep\/html\/environmental_education\/newtown.shtml\">Newtown Creek Nature Walk<\/a> is one of the newest. It&#8217;s a quiet, secluded, almost always empty public walkway nestled along one of the most polluted waterways in the country, next to a water treatment plant. It&#8217;s charming, in that Greenpoint sort of way. The whole thing was designed by sculpture artist\u00a0George Trakas, and my favorite part might be the curved walls of the entrance corridor.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2904\" title=\"bike portrait mila and her linus bike \" src=\"http:\/\/gudphoto.com\/bikenyc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/milsbike-3900.jpg\" alt=\"at the newtown creek nature walk in greenpoint brooklyn\" width=\"900\" height=\"831\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gudphoto.com\/bikenyc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/milsbike-3900.jpg 900w, https:\/\/gudphoto.com\/bikenyc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/milsbike-3900-300x277.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve wanted to do a bike portrait here for awhile (though I don&#8217;t think biking is technically allowed here.. oh well).
