In case you&#8217;re not familiar with them, StreetsBlog is an influential network of city blogs documenting and advocating for livable streets issues around the country. They are starting a new weekly feature called Why I Ride. These posts will feature a #BikeNYC portrait and profile of a different New York cyclist, and will appear every Friday.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m really excited about this, as it surely means that my images and stories of New York cycling will reach a wider audience and just maybe start to dispel the notion of New York bikers as an easily stereotyped, monolithic group.<\/p>\n<p>The first entry in this feature is my profile of Sally, an English-born textile designer and relatively recent NYC cyclist, whom I met and photographed in Queens.
