I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Jacquelyn and Ed bright and early Monday morning in \u00a0Greenpoint’s McGolrick Park*. They’re daily bike commuters; in fact, these portraits were taken minutes before they\u00a0embarked\u00a0on their respective rides. After they part ways in the morning, Jacquelyn pedals 11 miles to her office – in heels. Ed works downtown and so has a bit less distance to cover. As it happens, they have more than a casual interest in cycling.\u00a0Jacquelyn works for Bike New York<\/a>, the organization that puts on the massive annual event that is the 5 Boro Bike Tour<\/a>; Ed works at the Department of Transportation<\/a>. McGolrick Park is beautiful in the fall and almost deserted on a Monday morning. Ed is fond of the winged victory statue in the center of the park, so I shot \u00a0their portrait in front of it.\u00a0I think it was a good choice.<\/p>\n
