DC bike commuter Mary Gersemalina saw that I was in town through <a href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/p\/lIddE6QvmY\/\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a>, said hi on Twitter&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>Very exciting to think that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gudphoto\">@gudphoto<\/a> is in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%23bikeDC&amp;src=hash\">#bikeDC<\/a>! Too bad he is not doing portraits&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/t.co\/6QRadH8Pxl\">http:\/\/t.co\/6QRadH8Pxl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chasing Mailboxes (@coffeeneur) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/coffeeneur\/statuses\/440932362801541120\">March 4, 2014<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script charset=\"utf-8\" type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async=\"\"><\/script><br \/>\n&#8230;and a couple of hours later we were meeting by the Capitol for a chat and a portrait &#8211; officially the first #BikeDC shoot. Internet success story!<\/p>\n<p>Mary runs the blog <a style=\"font-size: 13px;\" href=\"http:\/\/chasingmailboxes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chasing Mailboxes DC<\/a>, where she writes about cycling and organizes pretty awesome social <a href=\"http:\/\/chasingmailboxes.com\/category\/coffeeneuring\/\" target=\"_blank\">bike events in DC<\/a>. But my brief ride on the <a href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/p\/lJigRCQvgr\/\" target=\"_blank\">bike lane<\/a> network and the warm online welcome from the #BikeDC community make me want to go back soon for a proper visit!
